Oilcloth
Mix one part mineral spirits into two parts boiled linseed oil. A little Lamp black or Iron oxide can be added for a black or brown color. Coat both sides of a good quality cotton canvas with the mixture. Let dry for one week.
The resulting cloth is flexible, water resistant, and perfect for outdoor use.
