Background and Identification
Beats headphones are produced by Beats Electronics LLC, a company founded by the legendary rap artist and music producer Dr. Dre. In 2014 the company was acquired by Apple for $3 billion US.
Beats offers circumaural (over-ear), supra-aural (on-ear), and in-ear monitors. They can be identified by the encircled "b" logo—usually located on the ear-cup or earbud—as well as the words "beats by dr. dre" printed in all lowercase across the top of the headband (for over-ear and on-ear headsets).
