Background

The CHI Spin N Curl is ceramic auto rotating curling iron. This CHI curler (model number: CA2288) was released in August of 2019 and creates curls and waves by just pushing a button. This curling iron is autorotating and uses three temperature and timer settings based on the hair type. The CHI Spin N Curl comes with a digital temperature display with adjustable temperature settings, directional buttons, and adjustable timer. The ceramic heat technology of the CHI curler decreases the amount of heat damage done to maintain the integrity of your hair.

This product weighs 1 pound and has a ruby red exterior. The digital temperature display includes pre-set temperatures that range from a low 370 degrees for fine hair to a high 410 degrees for coarse hair. This product utilizes adjustable heat-up times that range from 15 seconds for fine hair to 19 seconds for coarse hair.

The CHI Spin N Curl Ruby Red model is a standard model across all auto rotating curlers that CHI has to offer. Manufacturers have included several distinguishable features that allow for easy usage such as a swivel cord and beep alert to notify the user when the curl is ready. This product has sold around 30,000 units on Amazon and is listed in “Amazon’s choice in hair rollers by CHI.”

This product is manufactured by Farouk Systems, a company based in Houston, originating in the United States. On CHI.com the CHI Spin N Curl in color Ruby Red is listed at $116.62.

Identification

The CHI Spin N Curl Rotating Curler consists of a long narrow hand piece connected with a cylinder heating barrel open chamber. On the hand piece you can locate the oval shaped digital temperature display and directly above you can find the circular dual buttons that will control the direction of the barrel. The digital heating display will measure the heating barrels temperature while in use. The circular dual directional buttons, located above the temperature display, consist of arrows. The leftward arrow will cause barrel to rotate left and the rightward arrow will cause the barrel to rotate right. On the other side of the hand piece 4 oval shaped buttons in a row are located. The button with the power symbol will activate the curler to turn on or off. Next, locate the button with the letter “M” displayed. This button will set a timer for the desired time of use. You can increase or decrease the time by using the minus or plus buttons adjacent to the “M” button. The plus and minus buttons can also increase or decrease the heating barrels temperature. Above the hand piece there is the open chamber barrel. On the barrel it will indicate in small writing which side will be placed on your head. The model number will also be located on a white sticker on the barrel. This device comes in Ruby Red, Black, Blue, Matte black, mint green, rose gold, and white.
