The LG V50 ThinQ (also called the LG V50 ThinkQ 5G) Android smartphone was produced by LG Electronics as released as part of the LG V smartphone series. It was released in April 2019 as the successor to the LG V40 Think Q. The V50 was available with a black body.
Externally, the V50 is very similar to the V40 model, with a 6.4-inch display and a scratch-resistant glass back and front and an aluminum frame. The V40 and V50 both feature dust-resistance and water-resistance in up to 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes. Both models are also MIL-STD-810G compliant, meaning that it complies with standard military environmental worthiness and overall durability.
The V50 includes a 4000 mAh non-removable battery, which is considerably larger than the V40’s 3300 mAh battery. (A non-removable battery is one whose adhesive is permanent, making repair and replacement difficult). The V50 also features 18-Watt fast-charging capabilities and 10-Watt wireless charging. It also has Qnovo’s intelligent battery management software built in to extend the lifespan of the battery. The V50 uses a Snapdragon 855 processor and supports 5G, which is the fifth generation technology for cellular networks. The phone is available with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. This model also supports MicroSD card expansion for storage up to 1-terabyte and can be used with either single-SIM or dual-SIM setups.
The V50 ThinQ includes a flush rear camera and a 5G logo that lights up in specific colors depending on the carrier. The phone also includes the name V50 ThinQ in the center of the back, below the finger-print sensor. The LG logo is included at the bottom of the phone’s backing, which features the letters “L” and “G” in the form of a human face inside a circle.
