Background and Identification

Micro-Star International(MSI) is a Taiwanese technology company that manufactures computer hardware such as laptops, desktops, motherboards, graphics cards, servers, PC peripherals, etc. The five founders of MSI were originally employees at Sony when down-sizing brought them together, and they decided to form their own technology company in August 1986. The MSI GL63-8RE is a gaming laptop with a Core i7 processor, dual storage, and an Nvidia GTX 1660Ti graphics card. Ultrabook Review states in this review on the MSI GL63-8RE, “The GL63 still sets the bar at performance, thermals and audio, but its old design is no longer on par with today's expectations, nor are the screen options and the short battery life .”

The body of the MSI GL63-8RE is primarily black and red, with a metal interior and lid cover, and plastic on the sides and bottom. The MSI logo is directly under the 15.6” display, and the bezels are completely black. The lid cover has the MSI logo and two symmetrical red lines. There is a sticker beneath the keyboard that gives a lot of information about the features of the laptop, and the serial number can be found under the laptop.
