Background
The Makita GA5020 is a 5-inch SJS™ Angle Grinder designed for various applications, such as cutting ferrous metal, paint and rust removal, shipyard maintenance, heavy machinery, metal polishing, general steel grinding, auto repair work, cutting brick and masonry, and restoration work. The GA5020 integrates Makita's SJS™ technology, a mechanical clutch system that contributes to preventing motor and gear damage. A 10.5 AMP motor provides 11,000 RPM, and an electric brake contributes to productivity. The grinder includes a rubberized handle for operator comfort and a rear handle trigger switch without a lock-on feature. Labyrinth construction, zig-zag varnish, and thicker coil wires are incorporated to support a longer tool life. The tool-less wheel guard enables quick adjustments.
