The M18 and M12 Milwaukee Rapid Charger is specifically designed to be compatible with both the M18 and M12 model battery systems.
The charger also comes with a feature known as REDLINK that helps communicate the state of the batteries and charger via the lights on the charger.
This model is an improvement on older models in several different areas. The 48-59-1808 model of the M18 & M12 Rapid Charger is capable of charging M18 batteries much faster than older models. Another improvement on older models is the new design. Identification
The 48-59-1808 model of the M18 & M12 Rapid Charger can be identified in several different manners.
This model features a somewhat square/rectangular design that sports the Milwaukee color scheme of red and black. The left half juts out in the front and features a sticker that explains what each REDLINK light and frequency pattern means. The sticker also has both the model number and the serial number at the top. The cord protrudes from the front of the device. One the right side of the face of the device there is the slot for the bigger, squarer M18 battery while on the top left there is a slot for the smaller, more round M12 battery. Both of the lights are featured towards the back of the face, right behind where the batteries go.
