History and Diagnostics

Mitsubishi is one of those several large conglomerate companies that offers service across many districts, from regular business to vehicular construction. When the late 80's came around, business was booming with the arrival of new computers, alongside the first ever laptops, and like The DAP/PMP wars of the early to mid 2000's, everyone had to have a go at it, even Mitsubishi. What they created was the MP 286L, their first entry in the business computer wars, and what will be a new line of PC's called 'luggables'

This computer has the usual standards of any PC from the 80's. An array of old cable standards, being heavy and huge, very small hard drive storage, and a floppy drive to run external software. However, this PC has a few different features that make it relatively different from its competitors. It uses a whole PSU that runs on AC power, so it needs to be plugged into a wall outlet to work (it didn't run on a battery), and the storage used a Miniscribe HDD, which, at the time this was released, was a company performing fraudulent activities in their business that later lead to their bankruptcy. Another thing that Mitsubishi did differently is that users get to take advantage of a full built-in mechanical keyboard on-the-go, which, according to critics on tech magazines, was very well recieved.

Due to the Miniscribe drama, and the constant growth of technology and competition, this luggable laptop only began to become more and more obscure to time, being replaced by better computers, including actual laptops. On that note, tech has grown so much that I had to go on a long, arduous hunt just to find everything I can know about this piece of tech history, so it is preserved on this page.
