Background and Identification

The Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) Android smartphone is manufactured by Samsung Electronics as part of the Galaxy A series. It was introduced with the Galaxy A5 (2017), and Galaxy A7 (2017) in January 2017. The A3 (2017) sports a 4.7-inch display, whereas the A5 (2017) and A7 (2017) feature 5.2-inch and 5.7-inch displays, respectively. The A3 (2017) was released with black, gold, pink, and blue bodies. The A3 (2017) was available in Africa, Latin America, and Asia, but not available in North America and India. The 2017 model is the last Galaxy A3 and the last Samsung phone with a screen smaller than five inches.

Its predecessor, the Galaxy A3 (2016), has a slightly smaller body (but an identical display size) and a 2300 mAh non-removable battery, compared with the A3 (2017)'s 2350 mAh battery. The A3 (2016) comes with 1.5 GB RAM, where the A3 (2016) comes with 2 GB RAM. The A3 (2016) and A3 (2017) both feature 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 256 GB with extra MicroSD cards. Both models are also dust resistant and water-resistant in 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes. The A3 (2016) and A3 (2017) also feature Always-on Display and a scratch-resistant 3-D glass backing.
