The Gear S3 smartwatch is manufactured by Samsung Electronics. It was released on the 18th of November, 2016. While providing users with basic activity tracking features, the smartwatch also offers more advanced capabilities. Users can pay directly from the watch, receive texts, emails, and other alerts, and make hands-free calls thanks to the built-in speaker and microphone. The Gear S3 also gives users access to a variety of smartwatch apps, including Spotify, Uber, Yelp, CNN, etc.
The Gear S3 smartwatch was positively reviewed for its always-on display, intuitive user interface, and activity tracking capabilities. On the other hand, it was criticized for being large in size and not offering as many smartwatch apps as competitor devices.
The Gear S3 has an IP68 water/dust resistance rating and runs the custom Tizen OS. The screen is circular and has a rotating bezel interface to complement the touchscreen. The screen is a 1.3" Super AMOLED display. It comes in two finishes dubbed the Classic and the Frontier.
