Background and Identification

The Sony BDP-BX520 Blu-ray player was released Fall, 2014 and sold directly from Sony and at licensed retailers worldwide.

The BDP-BX520 can connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, is able to stream videos and music through services like Netflix and Spotify, and of course plays Blu-ray and DVD. The BDP-BX520 also supports 3D movies, provided you have a 3D television.

The Blu-ray player has a black, rectangular case, with the back, bottom, and sides made out of metal, and the front and part of the top made out of black, reflective plastic. The front of the case has the disc tray on the left side, and a power button, eject button, and usb port on the right side. The player’s model, BDP-BX520, is printed directly to the left of the USB port, allowing for easy identification.
