1991-1996 Toyota Camry Oil and Oil Filter Replacement

Locate the oil filter under the exhaust manifold in the front of the vehicle

Place the Lisle 63600 Oil Filter Tool over the filter, use an extension on the ratchet to reach around the hot manifold, and loosen the filter

Be careful not to burn yourself on the hot manifold.

Unscrew the oil filter and let it drain into the oil drain pan

source

Make sure the pan is aligned to catch oil from both the filter and drain plug.

Carefully remove the old oil filter

source.

Clean the mating surface where the new filter will be installed

Ensure there are no old seals or debris that could affect the new filter's seal

source.

Install the new oil filter by hand tightening it

source.

Move to the oil drain plug location and remove it using the 14mm socket and ratchet

source

Let the oil drain into the pan

source.

Replace the old gasket on the drain plug with a new one, if necessary

source.

Tighten the drain plug using the 14mm socket

source

Clean up any excess oil

source.

Refill the engine with 5W-30 oil using a funnel

source

This engine should take about five quarts

source

Be careful when filling the oil, as there is a plate just under the fill opening that can cause spills

source

Tilt the funnel to ensure the oil goes into the engine

source.
