    • Close the lid and turn the laptop over to access the back cover.

    • Remove the five 4 mm screws from the back of the laptop using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

    • Loosen the two remaining captive screws using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

    • Captive screws tend to have a slightly larger head than normal screws, so it is important to use the correct size screwdriver to avoid damaging the screw or the device.

    • Remove the screw from the hard drive using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

    • Carefully pull the hard drive out of its position.

    • Be sure to handle the hard drive with care. It should not need to be pulled hard to remove.
