Introduction
With time, the touchpad on your laptop will collect dirt and oil. Your touchpad may show wear and need replacement. Another alternative is if your touchpad is no longer responding. Either way, this guide details how to remove and replace the touchpad in an HP Envy TouchSmart m6-k025dx Sleekbook laptop.

Flip the laptop over so that the backside of the laptop is facing upwards.

Use the Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the twelve 5 mm screws that secure the bottom cover.

Insert a plastic opening tool into the opening between the bottom and top cover. Gently work your way around the perimeter of the case, and pry the two halves apart until the back cover is free from the laptop.

Peel back the black layer of tape, ensuring that you do not peel it off all the way.

Use a plastic opening tool to gently remove the connector from the port.

Once the screws have been removed, carefully pull the piece of blue tape away from the touchpad.

Grab the touchpad piece from the top corner, and begin to pull it up and out to remove it from the laptop.
