Introduction

This is a guide for 2012 Hyundai Tucson owners with cold A/C struggles. We have all been stuck inside a hot car on a summer day. Those days are no more! Recharging your A/C can be a life saver, and I hope this guide finds you well!

Risks: Engine can be hot if car was turned on in last 45 minutes. Wear safety goggles and gloves throughout duration of A/C recharge. Place the car in park and engage the parking brake before beginning.

    • Enter the car and turn on the coldest and most powerful A/C you can.

    • Make sure the A/C button is on.

    • Pop the hood open on the left side of the driver’s seat.

    • Secure the hood with the pole brace found on the left side of the engine near the low pressure fill port.

    • Screw the hose to the top of the R134a refrigerant. Screw to the right until failure. Remove low pressure fill cap.

    • With the A/C blowing cold and strong, attach the adapter at the end of the hose to the low pressure fill port.

    • Once the adapter is securely fastened, pull and hold the trigger with the bottle upside down.

    • You will begin to feel the bottle get cold. This is the refrigerant becoming activated.
