Identify the attachment points where the bungee cord is connected. These are usually eyelets, D-rings, or hooks.

Carefully cut and pull off the old bungee cord from the attachment point using scissors or a knife.

Lay the new bungee cord alongside the old one.

Add a few extra inches to your measurement for adjustments and securing the ends.

Use scissors or a knife to cut the cord to the desired length

Starting at one end of the kayak, tie a knot and thread the new bungee cord through the attachment point, following the same path as the old cord.

Ensure the cord is properly tensioned but not overly tight.

Gently pull on the new bungee cord to make sure it is securely attached and provides the desired tension.

Once you are satisfied with the placement and tension of the new bungee cord, tie another knot to secure the bungee on this end of the kayak.

Finally, trim any excess length using scissors or a knife.
