Introduction

If the laptop no longer starts and the screen remains black, the cause can be a flat Bios battery. This is simply replaced, after which the device works again without problems.

    • Make sure the laptop is off and remove the battery.

    • Loosen all screws (these remain in the case bottom) with a PH 00 screwdriver.

    • Open the clips around the case with an iFixit opening tool.

  2. 41LtQvgXDhxa3uQG
    • To remove the case bottom, you have to lift it slightly and push it backwards.

    • Be careful not to damage the case!

  3. 3nMshMyykPhlHrfu
    • Carefully remove the foil

    • Disconnect the plug of the battery.

    • Remove the battery from the circuit board. This is glued to the circuit board with a spacer.

    • Find a replacement battery based on the type designation (in my case a 08K8050 - CR 2032 3V) and insert it.

Conclusion

Work through the steps in reverse order to reassemble your device.
