Hello, I am Brandon Farquharson and I am a Civil Engineering Major at University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.
In the future I hope to be an engineer working a secure job. I have skills in engineering such as CAD&CAM and surveying but I also have skills in carpentry as I have worked as a carpenters apprentice for multiple years.
I have worked on many different carpentry projects including houses and commercial buildings. A project that I am proud of would be help building the new house that I live in now. Over three years I provided help with building walls, doing windows, flooring and many other things and after working hard for three years my family and I finally moved in during the summer of 2022.A photo of the finished house is right below.
I do not have any real repair experience. I once repaired my Xbox back in high school by taking it apart and cleaning all the components but not really much else but I am thrilled to learn more through the iFixit . I would love to learn how to fix different components of cars as it is a very practical thing to learn and can be used in many different types of situations.
This project excites me as my group and I are doing an repair guide for a power drill. As I work with power drill in my carpentry job I am excited to take it apart and see how it works and fix it so if I have any problems with power drills in future jobs I will know how to fix it. As I hope my future career involves engineering as a future engineer I am excited to see all the different components and how they are engineered to work.
