Background and Identification
The ASUS Vivobook Flip TP501U is a Windows 10 2-in-1 laptop that was released in the spring of 2016. The device is designed for portable use, targeting home and office use. The release price for the different configurations of the laptop ranged from $749 to $1099.
Reviews of the device most often praise the aesthetic of the device as well as its portability. Criticisms often include the poor quality screen and that it is more difficult to repair than previous models. Some users report poor performance, especially high disk usage when they first started using the laptop, however, this is common in Windows laptops during setup, and in general, the performance of the laptop was considered good.
The TP501 mainly differs from its predecessor the TP500 by its construction, as it is made with higher quality materials, and is slightly smaller and lighter. However, the battery is smaller than the earlier model. The TP501 was replaced by the TP510 in 2018, which is even thinner and lighter and has ASUS Pen support.
