Background

The DeWalt DCS380 is a battery powered reciprocating saw. The 380 model was released in 2012 and is still considered a current model, alongside other cordless and corded models. The 380 was sold as "tool only" with no battery, charger, or as part of a kit.

There are currently no recalls or defects known for this saw, but it may show more or less wear and tear depending on age and frequency of use. Depending on the model year there may be slight differences in the coloring from the model shown above, but the internals are all the same.

While there are several other versions of this saw, the 380 has several distinguishing features. The DCS381 closely resembles the 380, but it does not include an adjustable shoe and has deeper grooves in the fore-grip. It's motor is mounted in the front of the body, unlike the DCS367B which has the motor mounted at an angle near the handle.
