Background and Identification

The Rift CV1 (consumer version) by Oculus follows the release of the Crescent Bay prototype in September 2014, and is the first consumer-targeted version of the VR headset. The Rift features two 1080p displays that support a > 100º horizontal field-of-view. Motion tracking is powered by Constellation, a desk-mounted IR camera that can track the headset's position and orientation with little lag and high accuracy.

The Rift CV1 (the HM-A model) initially ships with an Xbox One controller, but will work with custom Oculus Touch controllers, expected to ship in mid-2016.
