The Toshiba Satellite C55D-A5304 was a laptop released in 2014. User reviews generally review the Satellite as slow performing, but still capable of completing most basic tasks of a laptop. It is encased in matte black plastic and other relatively cheap materials. It has a frontal camera and built-in stereo speakers.
The Satellite is a bulky laptop with a large display and basic features. The device is pretty heavy compared to today’s standards weighing 5.3 lbs. Featuring a 500GB hard drive, it is bulky in appearance with dimensions of 14.96” x 9.53” x 1.12”/1.31”. It includes a DVD player and media controller allowing for streaming of DVD’s. It has a headphone audio port and DTS sound with stereo speakers. The device also includes a Webcam and microphone built into the LCD bezel.
This laptop is standard among other budget-friendly laptops of its time. With no outstanding components, features, or design, the Satellite does not stand out above the rest. There are no known manufacturer recalls, and common user issues included trackpad failure, keyboard failure, overheating, and slow RAM/CPU speeds. There have been numerous other models and generations of the Toshiba Satellite laptop, even some among the same generation that came more powerfully equipped. The models that came after simply improved upon the known issues and weaknesses of this model, such as the slow processing speeds, poor cooling, overall weight of the model, etc.

The Toshiba Satellite C55D-A5304 is an adequate size with a 15.6 inch screen providing a fair amount of screen space while avoiding the bulkiness of larger laptops. With an entry level resolution of 1366x768 pixels HD, the clarity doesn’t deliver picture sharpness therefore it isn’t ideal for streaming or watching purposes. The model number is located on a sticker on the bottom of the device. The device only comes in black.
