Background and Identification

Wahl cordless beard trimmers are rechargeable facial hair trimmers designed to shorten long hairs such as beards and moustaches. Most beard trimmers involve rotary mechanics with a miniature-sized motor that rotates at a very fast speed. The motor causes two sets of hinged blades to move back and forth past each other to allow for the hair cuticles to be cut. Beard trimmers can be used to trim longer beards to a shorter length, unlike other shaving tools.

Wahl Clipper Corporation is an American grooming company based in Illinois. Wahl manufactures grooming products for both people and animals. Wahl produces trimmers for beards, moustaches, goatees, the body, ears, nose, and eyebrows. Wahl’s first electromagnetic hair clipper was patented in 1919. In 1965, Wahl introduced the first vacuum clipper, which allowed a person’s hair to be cut without the need for a barber’s cape. In 1967, the company produced the first cordless hair clipper using rechargeable battery technology. Wahl invented the first cordless consumer beard and moustache trimmer in 1984.

Wahl products generally include the name “Wahl” in capital letters inside of a rectangle with rounded corners. Wahl products are sold in over 150 countries worldwide under the brands Wahl, Moser, Lister, and Groom Ease.
