Using an opening tool/pick helps avoid damage, however you can also use the inner key to pry the two shells apart

If using the inner key to pry them apart, just reinsert the tip of the key into fob and gently twist

Slide a tool underneath the old battery to pop it out, the replacement battery goes in face down toward the bottom shell
