Does anyone know where to find a replacement, or if you can fit the version 1 of this computer with a larger capacity battery from version 2?

Over at https://www.mysn.de/detail.asp?bestellnr... (don't mind their stock picture), they still sell the battery for the C404 (which is identical to the P34G v2). I just bought a new 61.25 Wh GNC-J40, manufactured in 2016/07.

Will it run without the battery or is it a required part of the circuit? I have a P35G V2 and I only use it plugged in anyway.

The battery in my P34G v2 is pretty solidly stuck to the chassis. I don't really want to pull on it too hard but is this normal?

Donald Macaulay -

@jens_lipponer Yes it runs without the battery fine. I have my battery disconnected as it is really swolen and the laptop boots without a problem.

Which model do you have? I took out the battery from mine and is not working.

Hey, just wanted to add that I just bought a GNC-j40 battery for my p34g v2 to replace the GNC-h40 battery it came with and so far it is working + I can fit a hard drive alongside the ssd, while only going down from 63.64wh to 61.25wh. Worth it in my opinion for the extra storage. If you have more questions feel free to ask me here or on my youtube channel: www.youtube.com/qwertypop I might post a video of installing the battery there, not sure yet. The gnc-j40 doesn't come with the skrew holes that the h40 has (I just bought the j40 from china on ebay, so maybe that's why), so I had to hold it in place with some DIY stuff.

Useful to know qwertypop, thanks. My GNC-j40 is just clearing French customs so will be doing this in a few days.

Guide worked fine, thanks. Slight difference: my P34W v3 bought in Aug 2015 in UK was fitted with GNC-J40, so did not have the screws in step 2. It was secured by sticky pads. I carefully prised it out and replaced the pads on the new battery pack, they still felt sticky enough to hold it in place. And would recommend lining up the 2 back screws near hinges first when replacing as they were difficult to seat with others in place.

I have a SabrePro 15. The battery was very swollen and making the case expand a lot, breaking the touchpad too. A techie removed the battery for me, and the laptop works now but only when plugged in. I emailed support, but they seem to have ignored me for 2 weeks already, so I can’t source a replacement battery.

I’m buying a UPS as a quick-fix to at least stop the laptop from turning off every time there is a 1/2 second power outage.

Thanks for the tutorial. I followed it, and after changing the battery, my laptop doesn’t turn on, even with only power adapter, I’ve tried removing the battery and removing CMOS battery, pressing power button for 20+ seconds, but nothing seems to work. What can I do now?
