Introduzione

This guide will show you how to replace the CD Reader or Optical Drive from your HP G62-234DX.

Before beginning this repair, power off your laptop, unplug from the charger, and remove the battery.

*The CD Reader for our device was broken as there was no cover on the reader.

    • Make sure the computer is turned off, disconnected from the charger, and on a steady surface.

    • Unlock the battery by sliding the button just below it, to the left.

    • While pushing the lock button to the unlock position, slide the battery out and away from the laptop.

    • When sliding the new battery back into the socket, you'll know it's secure when you hear a click.

    • It Is recommended to remove the RAM panel for easier access when removing the hard drive panel.

    • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the hard drive panel on the back of the laptop.

    • Use a spudger to remove hard drive panel and carefully lift it up and out.

    • Pull the hard drive from the SATA connector to remove the hard drive from the laptop.

    • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the screw that holds the CD reader or optical driver in place.

    • Since there is no cover for this device this will be a improvised removal of the CD reader.

    • To remove the CD reader gently push the the back of the CD reader from the hard drive slot and pull it out on the other side.
