Hornby A4 OO Gauge Locomotive Disassembly and Maintenance Replacement

Place Locomotive on the padding and gently turn over.

Remove brake rigging, and pop off gently.

Unplug the tender loco connection.

Unscrew two flat head screws on the drawbar.

2 flathead screws

Unscrew the body using a philips screw driver.

Turn over and gently remove the body from the mechanism.

Recessed philips head.

Remove the motor mount philips screw and remove the gear covering.

Philips head screw.

Add a small amount of grease or oil to the loco.

Worm gear.

Replace the body onto the loco and turn over gently.

Reassemble until step 5.

Move towards the trailing truck of the locomotive and remove screws.

Remove philps head screw.

Remove the trailing truck plate and remove the axle.

Clean, replace and grease.
