Introduzione

The purpose of this repair is to explain how to shrink the size of a tennis racket grip. This process should shrink your grip about half of one size. In other words, if you use a 4 4/8ths grip, it should be halfway between that size and 4 3/8ths.

To complete this task, you will need your tennis racket, something sharp enough to remove any original, replacement or overgrip(s) currently on your racket, and an overgrip.

    • If your racket does not have an overgrip on it, then skip this step.

    • There is a good chance it is sticky.

    • Attach the smaller end of the new overgrip to the bottom of the handle.

    • Wrap the overgrip around the handle, parallel to the bottom of the grip.

    • Pull the grip tightly, leaving little to no open areas between the different parts of the overgrip.

    • Leave a little overlap between each row of your grip.

    • Most of your overgrip should cover the handle instead of a lower row of overgrip.

    • Make each row as close to the same size as possible.

    • It should tie the end of the grip to the rest of the racket.

    • I did not cut the end of the overgrip with scissors. If you want the grip to fit better, cut the end of the overgrip off at a 45 degree angle.

Conclusione

If you decide that you want to go back to the racket grip's original size, then you need to remove the overgrip and put on a replacement grip.
