Big Thanks, Dan!

Using your video I was able to disassemble the dishwasher, clean the much clogged “self-cleaning” filter and return the dw to normal operation and clean dishes. Without your video, I’d have had no idea how to proceed. Probably saved a few hundred bucks by doing it myself. I’m sure a repairman would have put in a whole new pump assembly rather than clean the filter inside the existing pump assembly

This was extremely helpful and saved me 100's of dollars since I didn't need to replace the whole recirculating pump! I already had replaced the diverter motor which didn't help and was about to either get help from a pro or buy a new dishwasher. Thank you for posting this video and for taking the time to talk through the process. Your help is MUCH APPRECIATED kind Sir!

Thank you kindly, Dan. I suspected the issue was something like this and your video was perfect. When we got down to the filter it had somehow shredded itself, which was problematic. The filter assembly cost me $75+ shipping from genuinereplacementparts.com.

Hi Lindsey, I actually had that very thing happen about 6 months later so I made a new video for that issue as it involved the main motor. you can hit that hear.

Thanks Dan Everything worked well except I had a lot of trouble stabbing the pump assembly back in. I lubed the rubber in the alignment port and the hoses (inside) with a Q-tip and some silicon lube and it slid right in. Also the onerous clamp can be spread open with a flat blade screwdriver and pinched shut using a pair of dikes (wire cutters, being careful to not snip it apart). This was my 2nd rodeo with this and seems to work well. Thanks again!

On our rental dishwasher (don't ask; landlord flumoxed) had paper mush caked inside the pipes and screen. And, the plastic pipes were brittle in places. This guide HELPED ME. Thanks.

Hey, I have one of these dishwashers, and it recently stopped working entirely. No lights or anything. I was able to perform a reset by flipping the breaker, which worked for one cycle. It then went back to being a brick in the wall. I've heard that this can be caused by a bad thermal fuse, but I took the whole door apart and I can't figure out where it is at all. Have you seen it in yours?

CheezyFriez12 -

It could be a thermal fuse but I have never had that issue. what I have had happen many times is it will go dead like you describe, but its actually not dead. I think it has something to do with moisture getting in the connectors on the main circuit board and causing problems that way. I remove the module and spray down each connector with contact cleaner and reconnect everything and it works for a while after that.

I also remove the board for the touch sensors and make sure its completely dry.

The last time I did this I used a contact cleaner with protectant in it. its really just a very light oil that coats and displaces water on the contacts. after doing that the washer has been working flawlessly since. thats how a came up with the theory of moisture causing the issues.
