Introduzione

If your LG G7 ThinQ (model IMEI 358159091436289) is turning on-and-off quickly, turning off randomly, or sometimes even screen malfunctioning, use this guide to replace the motherboard.

The motherboard is the main component of the phone. It may also be called the main board and it controls everything in the phone. It is what sends all the communications to the parts of the phone that need to be used for a specific task. A faulty motherboard can cause all kinds of issues including power issues and screen malfunction.

Before beginning, make sure the phone is powered off and is disconnected from any source of power.

    • Insert a SIM card eject tool into the hole in the SIM card slot on the top right of the phone.

    • After the SIM card tray is ejected, remove the SIM card tray from the phone.

    • Remove the SIM card from the tray.

    • Place the phone so the back cover is facing upwards.

    • Insert the opening picks one by one onto each side with equal pressure.

    • There is extra adhesive at the top near the cameras. You need to loosen the adhesive there to open the case.

    • If the picks are too thick to fit in, you can use the Jimmy to start the process.

    • Use the pick with the best leverage to pry the back cover away from the phone.

What is the dimension of the battery?

    • This device did not come with a midframe, but if yours does, follow the instructions in the teardown video to remove it.

    • Remove the screws along the perimeter and central area of the phone using a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

On my US TMO G7, there are six, not two, screws to remove before you can remove the speaker system.

    • Use your fingers or tweezers to remove the speaker system.

This picture shows the top shield assembly already removed. That is incorrect. You must peel a flexible shield up and also remove an additional board assembly so that the top ribbon cable of the battery can be pulled. Otherwise, you will break the ribbon cable and still not be able to attach the cable of the replacement battery.

The top shield is a large piece, with a screw on the left edge of the phone and several up near the camera assembly. I don't recall now, but I think the total was 5 or 6 additional screws.
