Introduzione

Keyboards often need to be replaced due to broken keys, mechanical failures, or wiring failures. This guide demonstrates how to replace the keyboard in three easy steps that should take 3-5 minutes. The only tool required is a prying tool.

    • Place the laptop so the bottom is facing up.

    • Remove the two M2.5x4 screws connecting the removable plate to the frame of the computer using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

    • Using both hands, slide the plate off of the back of the laptop.

    • Remove the three screws holding the keyboard to the laptop.

    • Open the lid of the laptop and locate the keyboard.

    • Insert the plastic opening tool into the corner of the laptop between the keyboard and the side of the laptop.

    • Do not force the plastic opening tool as this will damage the laptop.

    • Slide the plastic opening tool across the keyboard towards the other corner.

    What rubbish!! There are THREE screws holding the keyboard in place before you can do this. All marked with mini keyboard logo

    There is an error in the manual right from the start. First, remove the bottom cover. Unscrew the three screws (with the keyboard symbol). One is located under the bottom cover. After that, follow the rest of the guide.

    • Grab the keyboard at the corners and pull the keyboard off the laptop.

    • Make sure to disconnect the cord connecting the keyboard to the laptop before removing the keyboard.

    What about the screws holding the keyboard in place?

    If you don’t remove the three screws on the bottom of laptop you will never be able to remove the keyboard no matter how much you pry it up, it will break first.
