Introduzione

In cases of hard drive or SSD issues, removing the defective hardware may be necessary. This guide demonstrates how to remove the SSD from the Lenovo IdeaPad 100S-141BR.

Required items will be a Phillips #00 Screwdriver and a Spudger. The removal process is simple and requires little to no experience to complete.

It is also recommended to have a replacement drive ready to replace it, but this is not required.

Passo 1

Remove the eight 4mm PH00 screws.
Remove the four 2mm PH00 screws.

Passo 2

Use the nylon spudger to loosen the back cover from the back of the device.
You may hear a bit of a snapping sound, but this is normal.

Passo 3

For safety reasons, disconnect the wires connecting the battery to the motherboard with a nylon spudger.

Passo 4

Remove the solid state drive.

It seems like the last step could use a little more than just the connector circled. How does the connector connect? Is it just a lift up? Do I just pull on it? Do I need to be careful? Is it one of those "rocks 45 degrees diagonally to pull out" kind?

How about which piece is the hard drive? The metal piece to the left or right? Is it underneath? Is it not in the picture and this is an empty connector. I feel like i was watching Basic Instinct and the end of the movie just kind of came out of nowhere.

This is a good guide. With just a little bit more detail at the end, it could be GREAT!
