Find out how to change the battery in your Mpow 059 Headphones. The battery is located in the left ear cup and is simple to replace. This repair may be necessary if your batteries are no longer working and it may affect the noise cancellation, signal transmission, and audio drivers.

Note: If possible, make sure your battery is completely depleted before replacing it. If a lithium-ion battery is punctured during replacement, it may spark and create a fire.

    • Place the iFixit opening tool between the soft ear cushion and the hard plastic of the speaker.

    • Pry the soft ear cushion away from the hard plastic using a moderate amount of pressure.

    • There is adhesive holding the ear cushion to the speaker so it may take a little patience to remove.

    • Applying too much pressure can damage ear cushion.

    You state the battery is behind the right ear cup, it was behind the left cup on mine. The picture shows "L".

    • Remove the ear cushion away from the speaker to completely detach it from the headphones.

    • Use the Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the six screws holding the red plastic cover in place.

    • Carefully peel the plastic cover off the left cup to reveal the ear cup's internal components.

    • There is some adhesive holding the red cover down so be careful as you remove it so it doesn't break or crack.

    • Use the JIS J00 screwdriver to remove the 3 screws that secure the black cover.

    • Remove the black cover to reveal the battery. The battery is attached to the back of the black cover.

    • The plastic cover of the headphones is connected to the battery housing by a wire connector. Be careful not to harm this cable by pulling the cap too hard during disassembly.

    • Undo the cable and remove the battery.

First, you need to pry the piece behind the R headphone, which is itself adhered. THEN you need to pry the battery off of the backing.

And finally, you can realize you did all of this for nothing if you don't know how to solder. The battery cables are soldered onto the chip, making it impossible to replace without soldering in the replacement wires.

This is good to know. I was thinking there was something missing as to how the battery is connected. While I'd like to save my headphones from the landfill, it looks like a case of planned obsolescence. Guess I'll be hunting for new headphones with better repair-ability

I did this on mine, and I did not use a soldering iron. I cut the wires as close to the old battery as possible to give myself some wire to work with, cut the plastic connector off the new battery, stripped the wires, then used automotive "solder seal connectors." They are heat shrink butt connectors that have solder inside them. It all melts together and seals the connection when heated. These can be bought online. Be sure to cut one wire at a time, that way the cutters don't short out the battery. Also be sure to protect everything from melting when using heat.

Do you think the same battery is used in MPOW H12? My battery no longer holds a charge and even though inexpensive, the headphones are no longer sold on Amazon.

Took my MPOW H12 ANC headphones to an electronics shop in Thailand to replace the battery. Access fairly easy (under LEFT cup). Battery is marked:

-YT 802035 500mAh

+3.7V. 1.85Wh
