Introduzione

Owners of this headset are most likely aware of the rattling it makes when you move around. This is one of the biggest complaints of this headset and it can be easily fixed.

    • Remove the foam speaker cover. Locate (4) T5 Torx screws and remove.

    Extend right earpiece/headband fully to remove cover more easily.

    • Remove (3) Phillips #000 screws.

    • Remove circuit board

    Ensure you have enough torque! These were very difficult to remove with jeweler’s screwdrivers.

    • Optional, remove media buttons section by removing (3) Phillips #000 screws.

    • Cut a circular piece of foam and stuff it under the center section.

    • You are now finished! Just reassemble

OMG.. Best tutorial! I was looking at completing this and then stumbled upon your post.

The button rattle was driving me nuts!

Warning: this is a huge pain! I can confirm it does work though, so thank you!

Some tips:

- After removing the 4 Torx, fully extend the adjustable arm of the right earpiece/headband, it will make it easier to remove the cover

- There are very thin delicate wires connecting the PCB to the earpiece, making everything more difficult

- I could not generate enough torque with my thin stainless jewelers screwdrivers, trying as hard as I could. I recommend a large handle screwdriver. I ended up putting my jewelers screwdriver in my drill, this worked perfectly.

- I used a cut up earplug for the foam, works well, but was hard to shove into place

- Remember to put the sliding switch back into place before putting the screws in for the PCB when putting back together

Can anybody help me with the on/off (bluetooth/stick) switch? It’s the worst button ever. Function only after 5 or 6 tries. Ruining my nails every time. Is it replacable?

Very helpful for a 'tear-down'. I have bought 4 of these S/H on eBay over the years and still like them.

I left one in a pub (they were gone when I returned the next day) and have mislaid another. I bought a third pair for my elderly father who couldn't get used to the awkward switch and indeed (due to dementure?) has worn away the tiny ridge on it. It now works using a fingernail.

My 4th pair are used daily but a couple of days ago I noticed a buzzing noise as they were charging. On picking them up, I found the micro-USB connector to be hot, so disconnected. I then realised I had just come in from wearing the headset outside in pretty bad rain, so assume there was some shorting going on around the connector? Since then, there's an intermittent connection (oxidation of contacts?), which is why I ended up here.

Have tried contact cleaner, which helps a bit, but think I need to get the soldering iron out and replace the connector.
