Introduzione

If typing on your Sony Vaio VPCCB290X keyboard has become more challenging or stopped working entirely, you might need to replace the keyboard.

Before beginning the keyboard replacement, take some time to watch How to Set Up Your Anti-Static Mat and Wristband. This will prevent electrostatic discharge, which can be dangerous and damage parts of the laptop.

After gathering and familiarizing yourself with the necessary tools, learn how to replace a non-functioning keyboard below.

    • Attach an anti-static wrist strap to a piece of metal to prevent possible short circuiting.

    • Use a spudger to press in the black clips that lock the keyboard in place.

    • As you press in the black clips, remove the screws near the motherboard using the screwdriver.

    • Do not remove the motherboard.

  2. SQAToUbIrVKaTVe4
    • Using the metal spudger, pick a corner and carefully begin to pop off the keyboard.

    • It is normal to hear a soft clicking sound as the keyboard releases from the device.

  3. ORpMccrvEQtvG5YR
    • Two cables are attached to two white inserts to keep the keyboard anchored in place once the clips have been removed, and to keep the keyboard attached to the motherboard.

    • Unplug the thin cable by just simply pulling the cable straight out of the connector.

    • Leave the thicker white cable alone.

    • To fully release the old keyboard, lift the black wedge clip by using the spudger tool to press down on the clip and release the wider cable.
