This guide will show you how to replace the CPU fan and heat sink of the Toshiba Tetra Z50-A.
The CPU fan blows and pulls air off the CPU, keeping it from over heating. This replacement may be needed to fix issues such as overheating, frequent crashing, error messages, or your device making unusual or loud noises. In some cases the CPU can be damaged or broken. Before using this guide, check the trouble shooting page for any other issues that might cause similar problems.
Keep in mind for this guide you will need to know how to apply Thermal Paste to your device. Make sure to completely power of the device and disconnect any power sources before starting this guide.

Turn off the laptop.

Flip the laptop over so the bottom is facing upwards and the hinges are closest to you.

Remove the fifteen 5 mm screws from the back panel using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

Pull the wired cable up towards the top of the laptop to disconnect it from its socket on the motherboard.

Pull towards the bottom of the laptop to disconnect the fan cable from its connector on the motherboard.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
