School: University of Massachusetts: Dartmouth
Major: Political Science; minoring in Communications. I chose this major because I want to make a difference in working in the government or working within the environment.
Aspirations: I want to work in the government in either the State Department, the Environmental Protection Agency, or another federal agency. I don’t have an exact idea or career goal in mind now.
Skills: Some special skills that I have would be collaboration, delegation, teamwork and teambuilding, time management skills, and strong writing proficiency.
Projects/accomplishments: Some things that I have been proud of recently would be how I helped organize a volunteer trip to Guatemala, along with collaborating with students from Japan to represent as a joint delegation for our annual conference in New York City for National Model UN.
Repair experience: I have very little experience in building or repairing any items! I have never been good at using things like computers or other technology related aspects, so this project is something that is pushing me out of my comfort zone.
Accolades: Some awards that I have received would 2 honorable delegation mentions at NMUN NY’ 22 and NMUN DC’22. I have also been on my school’s chancellor’s list for the past 2 years. I have also won Senator of the Month through my school’s SGA for my explementary service.
Groups/memberships: I belong to the Student Government Assocation, the Model United Nations Team, the Sailing Club Team, and the Society of Community Leaders on campus.
Hobbies: Some hobbies that I have would be swimming, sailing, being out in nature, travelling, being with my friends and family, painting, and reading.
How does this project relate to you?: The way that this project relates to me would be in the way that it allows for me to grow and learn about how computer software works. We live in a society where material goods are often thrown away very quickly and are often treated without any regard. When electronic waste is starting to become more and more relevant, I want to find a way to preserve my devices and make them last for as long as possible instead of constantly trying to replace them.
Any other fun facts you’d like to add?: I have a twin and a pet parrot named Colie.
