Diese Seite beschreibt keinen einfachen Schlüssel sondern ein Schlüssel-Präfix, eine Art von Namensraum.

contact:*=* ist ein Prefix für verschiedene contact=*-Schlüssel, die Kontaktmöglichkeiten beschreiben.

Werte

Aus Datenschutzgründen sollten Kontaktdaten nur für Points of Interest (POI) und nicht von Privatpersonen/Privathaushalten eingetragen werden!

Es gibt Mapper, die der Meinung sind, dass man niemals Telefonnummern in OSM eintragen sollte. Siehe dazu auch die Diskussion auf der Wiki-Seite phone.

E-Mail-Adressen, die nicht im Klartext auf öffentlichen Webseiten auftauchen (sondern durch captchas oder andere Verschleierungsmechanismen vor Spambots versteckt werden) sollten nicht in OSM erfasst werden.

Für Telefon- und Faxnummern wird das Format der ITU-T Recommendation E.123 bzw. DIN 5008 verwendet:

Der erste Teil (Darstellung der Nummer mit Leerzeichen) wurde undiskutiert eingefügt und entspricht nicht den Empfehlungen - siehe Diskussion.

Bei der Schreibweise von Ländervorwahl und nationale Vorwahl werden KEINE "." Punkte, "/" Schrägstriche, "()" Klammern oder "-" Bindestriche oder sonstige Zeichen benutzt.
Lediglich der Ländervorwahl wird ein "+" PLUS-Zeichen vorangestellt KEINE "00".

Manche Mapper sind der Meinung, dass man Telefonnummern gar nicht eintragen sollten.
Entsprechend der Standardisierung durch die Internationalen Fernmeldeunion (ITU-T) [Verordnung Nr. E.123 Ziffer 2.5 (PDF-Datei)] ist bei der Schreibweise der Telefonnummer im internationalen Format lediglich EIN Leerzeichen nach der DRITTEN Ziffer der Subscriber Number einzutragen.
