Ireland/Public transport
Infrastructure is mapped as nodes and ways. Bus stops on the ground and iron rails are mapped as such. Relations collect ways and stop nodes to create routes.
Bus stops
highway=bus_stop should be applied to nodes to represent a bus stop.
The operator=* tag might be applied to bus stops. It should represent the operator of that bus route. Some current uses:
- operator=Dublin Bus - Dublin Bus
- operator=Bus Éireann - Bus Éireann
If a stop is served by multiple operators, the stop itself should not be tagged with operator, that should be done in the route relation.
Railway rails
This section discusses the mapping of the infrastructure, i.e. the sleepers and rails on the ground. See next section for routes rolling on these rails.
