GPXFilter is a plugin that allow filtering OSM GPS tracks by date and by author.

Download the area you are interested in (without gpx information)
Tools, Add EGPX Layer (Alt+Shift+X)
On the "GPX Data" in the list of loaded layers, right-click and select "Choose visible tracks" to filter the list.
You may also need to right-click on the layer and select "Customise colour" to make the tracks joining the points visible (though this might be a combination of user and version error).
