OSMLucener, is a project by User:LuVar in early development. It currently only has a database of Slovakia available.
OSMLucener Example query finding ATMs near a location
The project uses the Lucene library to index data in database. Instead of raw tags it indexes something like synonyms for key=value pairs. At the moment, we use indexes for Slovak language only, so that for example post office may be found using the keyword "posta", etc.
