Shropshire (Unitary Authority) is an unitary authority in West Midlands (region) at latitude 52°43′12.00″ North, longitude 2°39′18.00″ West.

As of 1 April 2009, the county of Shropshire is a unitary authority. It was formed from the non-metropolitan county council of Shropshire and five, now abolished, district councils.

Together with the unitary authority of Telford and Wrekin it forms the ceremonial county of Shropshire.
