Welcome

The State of the Map Scotland 2013 Unconference (SOTMS) will be held on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th October 2013 10am-4pm. It will be held at Inspace which is the building next to the Informatics Forum of Edinburgh University. The conference is roughly set so that professional groups can make engage with the Openstreetmap.org community on Friday and giving their insights of use of maps and data in their work. This makes for an enjoyable Friday afternoon outside the office. The Openstreetmap communitys presentations are on the Saturday.

The talks/discussions are usually in time sets of 30 minutes this includes setting up and questions so the talks are usually aimed at 20 minutes. Each day we have a section called Lightning talks. This is where people can introduce short talks for 5 mins, they can also ask questions of the crowd about any subject or ask if anyone would like to talk off conference about a particular subject.

The Third day is in a different location and consists of a Geografical Informations Systems Hackers day and Tutorials for those new to Openstreetmap. See below for details.

This year our main speaker is from International Rescue Corps They will be giving an hour long talk. We are also requesting donations for their cause to be collected on the day. Please look for the donation buckets. We also have a small number of OSM jackets £20 all money to IRC
