Key:electricity

electricity
Description
To indicate the source of electricity used in a building, a dwelling or a settlement
Group: Power
Used on these elements
Status: in use

The electricity key is used to indicate the electricity source used in a building, a dwelling or a settlement. The tag should be put on building features (building=*) or on small residential areas (landuse=residential) using the same electricity source.

Values

Values for this key should be filled with the type of electricity source, or if it can't be specified or missing, with yes or none. Use as follows:

Tagging Description Picture
electricity=grid Electricity is coming from a distribution grid, normally operated by some public or private company.
electricity=generator Electricity is produced by a portable generator, usually powered by diesel or petrol.
electricity=solar Electricity is generated by solar panels located at the feature.
electricity=* with user defined value To specify another electricity source than listed above.
electricity=yes There is electricity but the source is unspecified.
electricity=none or electricity=no There is no electricity at all.

If there is a schedule, conditional restrictions can be used. As an example, one can use electricity:schedule=grid @ (17:00-22:00) if electricity is coming from a grid and is only available every day from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
