UMap/Guide/Create a new map

A new map can be created by an anonymous user and a registered user.

Basic creation

• Step 1: Click Create a Map on the Home or Search results page. The new map will open with name Untitled map and a default zoom level.

• Step 2: Optional: arbitrary modifications to the map.

• Step 3: Save the map.

A logged-in user is ready now and can find his maps by My Maps on the Home page.

An anonymous user will see a pop-up (shortly !), at the top of the screen with an important directive.

When the pop-up has disappeared before the link is copied it is possible to find the link by button on the right side. A panel will be shown and the link is present below Only Editable with secret link .

Save this link always: it is impossible to open the map later for modification without this link.

Recommendations

Following actions can be postponed and/or once more modified later on.

• Give the map a meaningful name: Edit map properties
• Give the map a default zoom level: Save this center and zoom
• Set the right permissions: Define who can view my uMap and Define who can edit my uMap
