United States Geological Survey
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) is a scientific agency of the United States Federal Government that produces a great deal of data that is of interest to OpenStreetMap contributors. Most products available from the USGS are in the public domain.

- USGS Geographic Names Information System - database of geographic names
- USGS High Resolution Orthoimagery
- National Hydrography Dataset (NHD)
- 3D Elevation Program - high resolution (1m) digital elevation model which shows terrain, including waterways, wetlands, and man-made features such as roads and railroads.
