Project objectives

The long term objective is a complete coverage of those buildings and ruins in OSM. Not only the buildings, ruins, and outlines but also the tourist infrastructure should be covered: Parking lots, roads and paths, museums and gastronomical facilities.

Steps

  1. Discuss and improve a common proposal to tag fortresses and castles, see historic=castle.
  2. New proposal for prehistoric fortifications and nearly vanished castles, see historic=archaeological site, site_type=fortification.
  3. Discussion for new tag historic=city_wall opposed to modern walls, see Proposed features/City_wall.
  4. Develop a new proposal for tagging of fortresses.
  5. Develop a table to gather fortifications for each country. It may be built like Template:map_status.
