Wiltshire is an unitary authority in South West England at latitude 51°21′03.51″ North, longitude 1°59′33.33″ West.

Wiltshire unitary authority was formed 1 April 2009 replacing the previous two-tier system of county and district councils. It replaced the non-metropolitan county council of Wiltshire and four district councils.

Together with the unitary authority of Swindon it forms the ceremonial county of Wiltshire.
