Patong è un centro balneare nell'isola di Phuket.
Da sapere
Tra i più rinomati centri balneari della Thailandia, Patong ha attratto vacanzieri da ogni dove soprattutto per la facilità di procacciarsi rapporti sessuali anche con esponenti del proprio sesso. Celebrato a febbraio, il gay pride di Patong ha acquisito risonanza mondiale.
Di notte Patong assume un'atmosfera surreale e per certi versi grottesca che non sarebbe dispiaciuta a registi come Federico Fellini, Tinto Brass e Pedro Almodovar.
Tuttavia questo non è che un volto di Patong: grazie ai suoi bei fondali marini, la località si presta anche agli appassionati di immersioni subacquee. È possibile praticare altri sport come la vela.
Di certo Patong non è adatta a tipi tranquilli. Le notti sono di norma insonni e una ridda di locali con musica frastornante popola le sue strade.

Bangla Road (Soi Bangla) è la strada più famosa di Patong grazie ai suoi locali notturni al di fuori dei quali ragazze discinte cercano di richiamare l'attenzone di turisti occidentali.
