The magic of Solar Schools
By Possible (formerly 10:10 Climate Action)

Solar Schools, Project now closed according to website, Sep 2016. Community fund raising scheme for renewable energy projects. Each school has its own webpage where parents, ex-pupils, local businesses, and other supporters can buy squares of a ‘virtual’ solar roof. Once they have raised the total cost of the solar roof, they can erect it. The idea is that the solar roofs will help the schools reduce their carbon footprint, turn a profit from the renewable energy it sells and provide the children with a platform for learning about clean energy. UK Youth Climate Coalition

The UK Youth Climate Coalition (UKYCC) is a non-profit youth organisation in the United Kingdom. The organisation is run entirely by unpaid volunteers, who are all aged 18 to 29.

Formed in 2008, the mission of the organisation is to inspire, empower and mobilise a coalition of UK youth organisations and young people to take positive action on climate change. To achieve their aims and objectives, the organisation provides training to young people on public narration whilst coordinating a series of projects, campaigns and events each year, including youth delegations to the United Nations Climate Negotiations. W

The organisation is supported by a coalition of non-governmental organisations.
